M G SREEKUMAR - THE SMILING MAESTRO

M.G. Sreekumar is a two time National Award winning Indian playback singer and music director who works for Malayalam films.

M.G. Sreekumar made his debut in the Malayalam movie "Poochakkoru Mookkuthi". He has sung more than 3000 songs across a number of films in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.He became a music director in Malayalam films such as Achaneyanenikkishtam (2001), Chathurangam (2002), and Thandavam'(2002). Sreekumar's latest movie as music director is Priyadarshan's Kanchivaram. He will also do the music for Paraya Paraya Pattanam and another Tamil film to be produced by Seven Arts. He was working in Middle East before starting his career as a singer. He is the youngest son in his family. His elder brother M.G. Radhakrishnan is a renowned music director who have won many awards in his area of specialization. His elder sister is a renowned classical music vocalist and a lecturer in Kerala Music Academy.

Sreekumar's voice most matches with Mohanlal and their combination has made many super hit songs in Malayalam. The Malayalam movie "Chithram" directed by Priyadarshan in which Mohanlal performed the lead role was the first movie for M.G. Sreekumar where he sung all the songs in a movie. He is also the one talented singer in Malayalam who has sung the most number of fast number super hit songs. Sreekumar is also famous for his fabulous anchoring. He is anchoring a TV show named "SaReGaMa" in Asianet and is also a judge for the reality show Idea Star Singer.

It was by sheer incident or God's ordinance that Lekha came into his life like a bright morning star.Of course she also hails from a family of music lovers.Lekha the youngest daughter of Sri.P.Neelakanta Pillai, a senior criminal advocate is born in a prestigous family at Thakkalay (Tamilnadu).Her aesthetic sense for music and culinary arts lies deep down in her manteel and manifests itself where ever she is. In fact she has become the fountain of inspiration to him.Ever since she lit the lamp of his life, awards of different degrees were bestowed on him. He have never been attracted to anyone so much; in her he found out hisideal realised; his soul felt thrilled. He have had to spent days and nights dreaming about her. Prior to their marriage ten long years had gone by where and when he had to tread through fire and brimstone and love ! At last in his arms he secured her, his beloved wife,his own sweet heart.
